I don't know if this guy named Brad still works here but he was the most helpful customer service person I have ever encountered, in any store. Years later, my husband still reminds me how wonderful this guy named Brad from Canadian Tire is...
He may start with showing you which isle to get the door handle, then how to install a door handle, but for this guy, I'll build the house too, and buy everything here. There have been staff who call him at home on his day off to ask questions for customers and he cheerfully answers. Amazing!
Friendly staff, but the good things pretty much stop there. After working here and shopping here for 3 years these are some of the things me and my customers have noticed.
-The aisle are so small almost to the point of claustrophobia.
-Despite great staff it always feels like there's nobody there to help out. You gotta roam around a lot to find assistance which you'll need a lot due to the many locked up items, items that don't have a spot on the floor or if you just need assistance getting something off a top shelf.
-The managers are pretty straight forward in a bit of a crude way, expect to be told what's up, but in a bit of a demeaning way.
-The shelves are over-packed. Customers and employees have troubles finding things on the shelves due to the sheer amount of product on the shelves.
-Organization and categorization can make little to no sense at times, example: having the kitchen aids ~10 feet off the ground so you only find them by pure accident or by getting told where they are. Or now having the furniture and office chairs scattered around the store. They used to have an aisle last year, but now it's such a humble you may find furniture on top of aisle 55, on a front end of 43, some in aisles 37 or in seasonal aisle 65. Just no rhyme or reason.
Also from past experience I do not recommend the auto shop, my suggestion is go to any other shop in town, literally any other. The service is overpriced and slow. Last year I was told by the shop manager they were two weeks behind on tire change overs and there wasn't even snow on the ground yet, a total joke in my opinion.
If you're looking for a Canadian Tire to shop at where it'll be underwhelming, but you'll get what you came for it's the place for you. However if you want a reliable place you can count on I suggest elsewhere.
Too much stuff! Aisles are crowded and hard to find what you are looking for. Why does an auto store sell party supplies?
good store. bit over packed with stuff so it's overwhelming but they got everything
Saturday July 15 I come to Canadian Tire to exchange my battery that was under warranty. It was the best service I’ve ever had at this store. The young man working behind the counter went way beyond what I expected. Great job.
I called the seasonal dept last weekend to ask if they had any pickling salt in stock. The male I spoke with looked it up and told me they do carry it. When I asked him to see if there were any in stock ,he would not. When I hung up, I looked it up myself on the website and it showed there were 2 in stock. Gotta love the customer service at Canadian Tire!!!!
Great prices when there are sales . Lots of parking and easy access. Close to Starbucks and Mark's. Can park campers here and do all your shopping if you are on a road trip . Close to restaurants too . Easy access from #1 highway.
Ordered product online for Pick-up. Since I was driving a long way, I called ahead to ensure everything would be in order. When I arrived, the product was not in the condition I was told it was in. Tyler did a great job of making the situation right. I would definitely shop here again.
